Rosalea Taam-Akelman, M.D.

Dr. Taam-Akelman is a native of Ithaca, New York. She attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree and the Medical University of South Carolina for her medical degree and OB/GYN residency. During residency she received numerous awards including “Dr. H.O. Williamson Award for the Best all Around Resident & Excellence in all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynecology”. She was practicing as an OB/GYN in North Carolina before moving to Rhode Island, her husband’s home state, and joined Partners in OBGYN in 2025. Dr. Taam-Akelman enjoys providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for patients of all ages to help them meet their healthcare goals. Her particular interests include: preventative health, contraceptive counseling, preconception planning, obstetric care, and minimally invasive surgery. She is trained in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, robotic, and vaginal surgery. In her free time, she enjoys running, yoga, cooking and spending time with her family.
